Viking Fibel Necklace, Blue-Green
Fibula necklaces were necklaces consisting of various beads, balls, natural stones and pieces of wood strung together. This strand was then attached to two fibulae and fastened to the clothing. In the Middle Ages, these necklaces were a sign of wealth or served as a status symbol. Colourful glass beads and amber were very popular in the Early Middle Ages, particularly amongst the Vikings. Some pieces of jewellery were made of bronze, which were worn by wealthy women, though less so by the social elite. The poor used clay beads for decoration.
The brooch chain we offer has loops at each end, making it easy to attach to brooches or, using S-hooks as connectors, to chain splitters. With its cool colours, the blue-green Viking brooch chain complements both simple outfits and more elegant attire.
