Medieval bascinet helmet
The medieval bascinet helmet is made of 16 gauge mild steel and is ideal for medieval knight costumes, medieval markets or Renaissance festivals.
With a head circumference of 72 cm (28.35 in) (without lining), a face guard measuring 28.5 × 21 cm (11.22 × 8.27 in) and a base area of 24 × 22.5 cm (9.45 × 8.86 in) (with the visor closed), it offers optimum protection.
The face cut-out measures 16.5 × 15.8 cm (6.50 × 6.22 in), while the visor area is 37 × 25 cm (14.57 × 9.84 in). The eye slits are 15.8 cm (6.22 in) long and vary in width from 2.5 cm (0.98 in) in the middle to 1.3 cm (0.51 in) at the sides.
The helmet weighs 3.23 kg (7.12 lb) and has a visor with a side hinge mechanism.
To protect against corrosion, the helmet is supplied with a thin layer of oil, which should be removed before use.
