Mystica Hamelon 2026 – Medieval and fantasy spectacle in the Pied Piper town
When mystical figures, forest creatures, knights, dragons and trolls roam the streets and Celtic stories fill the night air, Mystica Hamelon is in full swing. From 6 to 8 March 2026, the historic old town of Hamelin will become the stage for one of the largest medieval and fantasy spectacles in northern Germany.
Date and opening hours
Mystica Hamelon 2026 will take place over three days: Friday, 6 March, 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday, 7 March, 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, 8 March, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. On Sunday, when shops are open for business, the shops in Hamelin city centre will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Over 150 programme items
Around 150 programme items await visitors on the extensive market grounds, which stretch across the historic old town. Over 100 medieval stalls offer handicrafts, garments, jewellery, fabrics and culinary delicacies. Spectacular fire shows, wild show fights and dozens of musicians provide entertainment.
Mystica goes far beyond a classic medieval market: elves, wizards, orcs, pirates, demons and forest fairies from all over Europe make Hamelin a unique meeting place for costumed visitors. From the world's smallest historical Ferris wheel to axe throwing and "Hau den Lukas" (high striker), there is a fantastic variety of hands-on activities.
New to the programme in 2026: the Black House Beer Garden in Osterstraße as an additional performance area. New musical additions are Kvardich from Czechia and Treelilium & Guests. The highlight on Saturday evening is the Mystica Variety Show on the Hochzeitshaus terrace.
Admission and directions
Admission is free. Hamelin is located on the Weser River in Lower Saxony and is easily accessible via the B1, B83 and B217 federal highways – conveniently located between Hanover and Paderborn. The Pied Piper town with its world-famous legend provides the perfect backdrop for this unique experience combining the Middle Ages and fantasy.
