Veltheimsburg Bebertal Medieval Festival 2026 – Castle Festival in the Boerde
On 24 and 25 April 2026, Veltheimsburg in Bebertal (Hohe Boerde municipality, Saxony-Anhalt) invites you to its Medieval Festival. The small but charming castle complex offers an intimate setting for medieval camp life, crafts and juggling.
Veltheimsburg – A Hidden Gem
Veltheimsburg Castle at Burgstrasse 16 in Bebertal is one of Saxony-Anhalt’s lesser-known but all the more charming castle complexes. Nestled in the rolling hills of the Magdeburg Boerde, the castle exudes a tranquil atmosphere that instantly transports visitors back to times gone by.
Programme and Attractions
Medieval groups and craftsmen are stationed around the castle grounds, demonstrating traditional crafts and inviting visitors to join in. Re-enactments, juggling and storytellers entertain the audience. For children, there are hands-on activities and jousting tournaments. At the market stalls, mead, tarte flambée and barbecue specialities beckon.
Opening times and admission
The festival begins on Friday from 3 pm and on Saturday from 2 pm. Admission: €5, free for children under shoulder height.
