The calf wraps are made of a milled, blue mottled wool fabric (88% wool, 6% nylon, 4% polyester, 2% acrylic) and measure approximately 350 × 10 cm. Open, flat edges and a sewn-on lace with tie strap make them easy to put on and ensure a comfortable, secure fit.

Calf wraps made of milled wool fabric in blue melange

The calf wraps are based on historical models found at sites such as Haithabu and combine a traditional appearance with a comfortable fit. Their mottled, fulled wool fabric makes them robust, warm, and soft to the touch—qualities that make them a practical addition to authentic Viking or early medieval clothing.
The wraps are made from a high-quality wool blend that is compacted during the fulling process, giving it a particularly dense and durable structure. The open, flat edges do not fray with this material and ensure easy handling. The sewn-on lace with a simple tie makes them easy to put on, so that the wraps provide reliable support without restricting freedom of movement. One pair is supplied.
Calf wraps were widely used in Germanic and early medieval clothing and were worn by both men and women. They were wrapped from the foot to below the knee, served as a substitute for socks, and at the same time offered protection from cold, moisture, and minor injuries. Even today, they are a fitting addition to representations of the Viking Age and the early Middle Ages.
