Bronze Viking bead

This detailed replica of a Viking-era bead is based on an archaeological find from the 9th to 10th century and uses the characteristic granulation technique of that era. The granulation technique used to involve pearls that were painstakingly crafted by hand, with tiny beads and fine wires artfully soldered together to create a filigree decoration. This replica, on the other hand, is cast in one piece – yet the fine ornamentation is still impressively displayed and gives the pearl its authentic, historical character.

To thread a hair bead or beard bead easily, it is advisable to moisten the strand of hair slightly with water or styling gel before passing it through the hole in the bead. This makes the strand easier to guide and achieves the desired result more quickly. Before threading the hair bead onto the strand of hair, you can also use a beard or braid elastic (if the hair is particularly straight). This makes it much easier to attach the bead and ensures that it stays securely in place in the hair. The Vikings would have used a small piece of yarn for this in the past.
