Earrings silver plated "Vendel Ravens" - pair

Vendel raven earrings, made from fittings found around 600 AD in Gotland/Sweden, are a beautiful piece of history.

It is likely that the raven earrings were created in honor of Hugin and Munin, Odin's faithful bird companions in Norse mythology. During the Vendel period, before the Viking Age, such depictions of birds were found throughout Germanic culture. The originals can still be seen at the Statens Historiska Museum in Stockholm.

The earrings are delivered as a pair (2 pieces).
