Cingulum, Roman leather and brass belt
This leather and brass cingulum is a replica of an original artifact dated to the mid 1st century AD. The original piece is now in the Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum in Mainz.
The replica is made of high quality leather and equipped with original and decorative metal plates and decorative rivets. Each strip of the belt (so-called "pteryges") ends with metal pendants. So that the rivets on the inside do not cause any possible damage to the tunic underneath, the inside is lined with suede.
The waist belt is made of 3mm (0.12 in) thick leather and has pre-punched holes to customize it to your own girth. A leather cord for tying and attaching a dagger to the button-style pugio suspensions is included. Each leather strip has an integrated loop, allowing it to be slid onto or removed from the belt at will.
