This exquisite piece is carefully handcrafted, polished and decorated with a beautiful engraving of the Fenris wolf (also Fenrir, Fenris or Fenrisúlfr).
In Norse mythology, Fenrir, the giant wolf, is known for his terrible strength and unquenchable rage. He brings disaster and chaos. Fenrir is recognized by the gods as a serious threat to the worldly order. Using a trick, they manage to bind him to a rock with a magical chain and sink him deep underground. He remains trapped there for a long time until the prophecy of Ragnarök, the twilight of the gods, comes true.
In this fateful end time, Fenrir succeeds in breaking his shackles. In a fierce battle, Fenrir finally devours Odin. But Fenrir also has to pay the price: Odin's son Vidar avenges his father and kills Fenrir. With Odin's death, however, the old order collapses and a new era of the world begins.
