Description

Chain arm made of riveted rings (round rivet heads) in 3 different sizes, Ø 6 mm (0.24 in).

These chain arms consist of 2 types of rings. One row was made from riveted rings, the next from punched rings. Also in the Middle Ages chain skirts, chain shirts etc. were made in this way, because it was not so time-consuming and still is, because you only have to rivet every second ring.
As a result, rings made of steel with a material thickness of only 1mm (0.04 in) could be used then, as they are today, without losing their strength. This results in a weight reduction of 30-35%.

This type of bracers were used in the late Middle Ages and were mainly sewn or pinned onto clothing.
They are therefore well suited for the representation of the late Middle Ages.
